Extra Iron Capsules. Iron is an essential trace mineral required from the diet to help ensure good health. Its main function is as a constituent of haemoglobin and is sited predominately in the spleen, liver and bone marrow. Haemoglobin carries oxygen around the body to the cells. In the cells oxygen is required to release energy from food, so iron is necessary for growth and development especially during childhood. Menstruating women also have a special requirement for Iron. Bio-Health's Extra Iron has 150mg of Vitamin C added to aid absorption of the mineral and its incorporation into haemoglobin. Copper has also been included in the formulation.
