| Peppermint Essential
Oil. Mental stimulant - good to use when studying (but not last thing at
night). Good for itchy skin (only one drop in bath). For upset tummy massage
area in a clockwise direction. Useful in foot bath (not more than 3 drops)
to cool and deodorise feet. Cooling action. Helps clear nasal passages with
steam inhalation. Good to use in conjunction with Lavender and Marjoram
during winter, as a chest rub( diluted with carrier oils) or to vapourise.
Useful deterrent to vermin e.g. mice, rats, ants and cockroaches, especially
when combined with Eucalyptus. Use diluted in a suitable carrier oil |

'Mints have been cultivated since ancient times
in China and Japan. In Egypt evidence of a type of peppermint has been found in
tombs dating from 1000 BC. It has been used extensively in Eastern and Western
medicine fro a variety of complaints, including indigestion, nausea, sore
throat, diarrhea, headaches, toothaches and cramp. It is current in the British
Herbal Pharmacopaeis for intestinal colic, flatulence, common cold, vomiting in
pregnancy and dysmenorrhea' - an excerpt from Complete Essential Oils by Julia
